We are domestic violence service providers from across the city of Chicago, who have come together to advance our cause in ending domestic violence. Each year, we recruit a team of dedicated runners to help us raise both money & awareness. All revenue generated by the Run DV Team is used by our member agencies for domestic violence prevention and supportive services for its survivors and their families.
We have an awesome team of runners in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon and the Chicago Half Marathon/5K!
The Chicago Marathon takes place in October, which is also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Through community engagement our team intends to make use of a new resource for consciousness and fund-raising via this iconic Chicago event.
The Run DV Coalition is an unprecedented collaboration representing diverse populations across Chicago. Our domestic violence agencies are located in neighborhoods throughout the city and suburbs, and serve communities representing all races, ethnicities, and religions.
Our runners participate in The Bank of America Chicago Marathon that takes place in October, which is also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Through both community engagement plans and mass-marketing appeal, the domestic violence service collaborative agencies intend to make use of a new resource for consciousness and fund-raising via this iconic Chicago event.
We are also 2019 charity partners for the Chicago Half Marathon & 5K in September, with a dedicated group of runners representing Team Run DV.
How do we get it done?
Following a successful marathon campaign in 2019, the Coalition is excited to work together in order to make 2019 even stronger. Member organizations will invest their time and energy to ensure a successful campaign and happy running team. Each agency has designated representatives to participate on this campaign’s Steering Committee. From volunteering at the Chicago Area Running Association’s (CARA’s) Ready to Run 20-Miler to fun team runs, fundraising events, and even making posters to cheer on our team during the “big day”, each domestic violence organization (The Coalition) is committed to making the 2019 Chicago Marathon season as wonderful as 2018 was for our runners.
