We are very thankful for our 2016 Run DV Sponsors! Our Gold Medal Sponsor, Chicago Says No More is doing amazing work in Chicago to help end domestic violence and sexual assault. We are honored to have Chicago Says No More and Izzio Artisan Bakery in Colorado join our team for the 1st time, this year. And, we are extremely grateful to have First Bank of Highland Park sponsor us 3 years in a row.
Chicago Says No More is dedicated to addressing the challenges of domestic violence and sexual assault in the Chicago metro area and across Illinois. It is aligned with the national NO MORE campaign that was started by a coalition of leading advocacy groups, service providers, and major corporations.
- Marshal resources of the Chicago metro area to combat domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Change the culture and conversation about domestic violence and sexual assault so citizens can make a difference.
- Provide fresh, innovative ways to leverage resources offered by myriad not-for-profit domestic violence and sexual assault organizations by establishing system-wide solutions to challenges they experience.
Chicago Says No More is focused on ending the silence and changing the way that America talks about—and doesn’t talk about—domestic violence and sexual assault. It’s about ending the excuses and misinformation that are used to shelter this American epidemic.
This needs to be a truly national conversation. And for that to happen, Chicago needs to lend its voice, to pledge and to say: No More. Go to their website and take the pledge, Chicago!
As a privately owned community bank, First Bank of Highland Park has been focused on the local community and meeting the needs of its neighbors for 60 years. We have developed a bank-wide culture of caring by giving our time, talent and resources as well as financial education and charitable contributions.
Our directors, officers and staff share their financial expertise by serving on the boards and committees of local non-profit organizations.
First Bank of Highland Park is honored to be chosen as recipient of the 2016 Corporate Citizen of the Year Award by the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce. The award honors corporate contribution to the well-being of the community and truly celebrates our philosophy “Where Community is First!”
Our legendary bakery “Izzio” (est. 1994) is named after owner and head baker Maurizio Negrini, a third-generation baker from Bologna, Italy. We rely on true artisan baking methods, shaping breads by hand and using only the necessary ancient ingredients without the help of modern processing aids, additives or preservatives. Our unique breads are available at farmer’s markets and on the shelves of the best grocery stores across America.
What makes it Izzio?
The world’s finest wheat, harvested from the high American plains.
Each loaf shaped by hand
Baked at very high temperatures in custom built ovens to create porous interiors and dark, flavorful crusts.
Most importantly, we take our time. About 26 hours to be precise.
This long, slow process (fermentation in baker speak) gives our breads extra flavor.
Team Run DV appreciates our amazing sponsors!
